We need to stay strong regardless of what happens. Likely everyone on Earth has heard a similar phrase spoken in their native tongue. Such words are so overused that they begin to lose meaning. Maybe hearing a story with fantastical elements will help us rediscover something we tend to overlook.

Stepping on Writer’s Block

56-year-old Daniel Schaft analyzed if any dirt was still left under his very short nails. Unfortunately, the man’s fingers were so wide that he would commonly hit the wrong letters on the greasy keyboard. Daniel’s slender stomach was sticking out of the stained blue jeans from drinking a full bottle of Coke Cherry. He stared at the nearly blank Word document with “Hjskalhjkh” typed in dark green Times New Roman. Then there was the realization that he needed to relieve himself.

Dealing with people can be unconditionally terrifying. Social rules differ based on cultural context, evolve throughout time, and can absolutely confuse all of us because what works for one person doesn’t work for the other. Our increasingly digitalized world does not necessarily require in-person contact and it’s no shocker that social anxiety is becoming more prevalent as a result.

Why Mermaids Make Us Happy

Mermaids. I continue to be fascinated by their aesthetic. Even in the modern times there are alleged mermaid sightings, mummies, and bones. Tales involving these creatures have appeared throughout many cultures. There is still no confirmed evidence. Folklore involving these half-human fishes date back to cave paintings that are over 30,000 years old. Mermaids remain a part of our modern day mythology.
