Inspiration’s Curse

Inspiration can hide itself for longer periods. How frightening that may be. There is this hunger for creating meaningful art. Sometimes, in fact, the art is better than previously envisioned. But often, a general dissatisfaction may come to fruition when the first vision does not match the final art.

Give yourself time. Bad days will unfortunately make their appearance, yet they don’t indicate failure and don’t preview the future. Sometimes personal projects take years and we lose patience. Living one day at a time is not bad advice, but how easy it is to revert back to old thinking when there are no instant gratifications.

Keep on going. Create something that gives you meaning and joy.

Give yourself a break when necessary.
